Course Search and Registration Instructions

Before you begin, check if you have a hold on your account that is preventing registration by logging into your student account at stkate.edu and looking at your Student Profile. Refer to the Holds Table to identify the office that placed the hold based and how to contact them to resolve it.

Step 1. Select Register for Classes

Supporting text reads: 鈥楽earch and register for your classes. You can also view and manage your schedule.鈥 Below is a link labeled 鈥榁iew Registration Information鈥 with a folder icon.

Step 2. Add a Term - Choose a term from the drop-down menu, then press Continue.

Step 3. Search for Courses - Clicking into a search field will present the drop-down of available options.

In the 鈥淐ourse Schedule/Attributes鈥 box, select either 鈥淐ollege for Women鈥 or 鈥淐ollege for Adults.鈥 This is important because you will only be able to register classes in your college, so you want to make sure you are only pulling up classes you can actually take!

Then put the subject of the course you want to take in the 鈥淪ubject鈥 box (e.g., BIOL, PSYC, ENGL), and put the course number (e.g., 2610, 1000, 2240W) in the appropriate box. Then select Search

Searching by attribute

Alternatively, you can choose from the available pre-populated Course Attributes to find courses that meet certain criteria; such as, writing requirement, service-learning, natural sciences (meets the undergraduate core requirement), or Women's Studies (meets undergraduate core requirement).

Note:  Before adding the course, confirm that it matches the College that you are enrolled in under the Attribute column.

Also, be sure to review the Course Notes and Restrictions tabs for specific information about the section and the restrictions.

Finally, click on Instructor/Meeting Times to see when the class runs. Classes may run for the first half of the semester, the second half of the semester, or the full semester. The only way to know when your class is running is to check the dates!

Half-term classes are accelerated. Make sure that if you are taking half-term classes, you pick a first-half term and a second-half term so that you have a balanced schedule. We do not recommend that students take more than two 4-credit half term classes in the same part of the semester (i.e., two in the first half or two in the second half)!
